Year 1 learnt about the Queen’s Coronation in 1953. They created a timeline of events, had a street party and watched video footage of the event so they could crown our own King and Queen
In our Read Write Inc lessons we have been working on using our sounds for writing. We have been completing sentences about the story we have just read.
In PE, Year 1 have been learning how to balance. They have been focusing on 1,2 and 3 point balances.
Year 1 have been learning about the parts of a circuit and tried to follow the instructions to make their own complete circuit.
Year 2 have been learning how to measure in centimetres. They used tape measures to accurately measure different parts of their bodies.
Year 1 have loved learning about The Polar Express and have done some fabulous work linked to the book. As their landing point they have posted their letters to Santa, followed instructions to make some biscuits and enjoyed some delicious hot chocolate.
As part of Remembrance Day, Year 1 made used their cutting, sticking and folding skills to make poppies.
