What you need to do

During any school holiday or out of school hours you have any concerns that your child or anyone in the household show symptoms of coronavirus, you receive a test and trace notification or you have a positive Covid-19 test result, it is vital that you provide details and inform school as soon as possible.

Please contact school by emailing covid@balbycentralprimary.co.uk and ring 01302 321914 leaving a voicemail message for the team selecting option 1. These will be monitored daily. It is imperative that you notify school as soon as you have any concerns or notifications so that we can take the relevant action to keep our school community safe. We will get in contact with you the same day to discuss close contacts they may have had in school. After Wednesday 23rd December and over the Christmas period, Test and Trace will contact school direct if they think it is necessary. Details of how test and trace work can be found at the NHS Test and Trace website

Latest Coronavirus testing information from Doncaster Council

Testing is one of the tools that will help us get through the pandemic and back to normal. There are lots of ways to help you get the test you need.
If you have symptoms:
• a high temperature
• a new, continuous cough
• a loss or change to your sense of smell or taste
If you have coronavirus symptoms (including a high temperature / a new, continuous cough / a loss or change to your sense of smell or taste) then you need to take a symptomatic test (also known as a PCR test).
This can be done by booking a test at one of the symptomatic testing sites or by ordering a home test kit. Book online or call 119.
There's plenty of capacity at local test sites should you have Covid symptoms and need a test, appointments have to be booked via the national system. The local sites are:
• Doncaster Sheffield Airport
• Adwick Park and Ride
• Bridge Street Car Park, Thorne
• Chappell Drive Car Park

You must self-isolate and only leave your home to get tested.
Anyone you live with, and anyone in your support bubble, must also stay at home until you get your result.

Symptomatic people should not be using Lateral Flow Tests to check for positives – whether that is using your supply at home or going to one of the community testing sites. These tests should only be used by people WITHOUT symptoms.

If you have additional new onset symptoms you're concerned about:
If you have new symptoms that feel different to usual and have cause for a concern that you think you may have COVID-19. For example if you, or someone in your household, has had contact with a person that tested positive for COVID-19 in the last two weeks.
Please book a symptomatic (PCR) test and when completing the form you will be asked "Why are you getting tested?" when completing this section, please select:
- My local council or health protection team has asked me (or someone I live with) to get a test, even though I do not have symptoms.
People without the classic symptoms do NOT need to self-isolate but they can book a test using the guidance above.

If you don't have symptoms
Regular testing will help us drive down our Covid numbers locally. 1 in 3 people don't show symptoms so the more of us that get tested regularly, the quicker we can stop the spread and get Doncaster back to the life we love.
Under the current national lockdown guidance, people are still able to leave their homes for a Coronavirus test and so it is vital that we use this time to drive down Doncaster’s rates as much as possible, especially as some people are still working in the community during this period as well as leaving their homes for essential purposes, such as supermarket shopping and medical care.
If you do not have symptoms you can access a test known as a Lateral Flow Device test, LFD test, a rapid result test or a rapid lateral flow test.
