Remote Education
Our remote offer at Balby Central
At Balby Central Primary Academy we offered a comprehensive remote education offer during lockdown.
We were pleased to see so many of our children engaging in the remote offer and have continued to develop and refine it to ensure that it meets the needs of the all our learners, should we require it again. We know how important it is to build on the home learning we were able to provide during lockdown, to make sure our children do not miss out on the valuable learning should the staff or children not be able to attend school in the future. We are constantly reviewing our remote offer and aspire to reach all of the needs of all our learners.
If as a school for any reason we need to implement remote education we are able to provide and make sure that our children are not missing out on learning. The Government recognises the importance of children continuing with their education during periods of time at home as a result of restrictions on attendance. From August 2024 scgools are legally required to ensure that children have immediate access to high quality remote education from the first day of school absence, related to two potential scenarios.

Individual cases where a child is unable to attend school but is able to learn e.g. recovery from an operation
We will provide remoted education if
- Children are unable to attend school in person due to unplanned closures for example, due to adverse weather
- The school is required to close or restrict attendance because there are higher than normal levels of staff absence for example due to strike action
- In exceptional cases, a child may be unable to attend for medical reasons but well enough to learn from home, for example recovering from a short term infectious illness of preparing for or recovering from an operation
If your child is not able to access remote education through the use of technology or the internet, then please get in contact with the us as there are different ways we can support to make sure that they get access to all the learning they are entitled to.
